This is a two part-er that just kept jumping back and forth, so much that I don't know if there was any continuity at all, but here's my best shot at describing my most recent dream to you.
At one point, I was at a family friend's home. But in my dream, it was like a mansion with really bad, shaggy, gray carpet. All the furniture was expensive and guilded in gold, big windows and fancy looking. rooms were big, tables and seating were big, mirrors and windows were big. But not the best cared for. the carpet looked terrible, wasn't secured to the floor very well, with lumps in it, etc. Turns out, the lumps moved, or slithered beneath my feet, only to find out that it was a giant ball python looking to eat my precious munchkin. I kept trying to make it go away, but the more i tried, the more persistant the snake became. While sitting on the couch, the big snake, like 6-7 feet big, rose up before me. I grabbed a trashcan lid and started beating it on the head. which only made it angry.
skip to being in this large, black and white marbled warehouse sized room. Most if the space taken up by a fountain in the center of the room. the fountain was made of white and light blue colored stone/tile/smooth looking stuff (come on, i'm not a designer, i don't know the name for it). And water was cascading down the sides, so clean and fresh. it was surrounded by a small pool of water all around. This fountain was a temple. All you had to do to enter was be clean, walk into the water, down a submerged ramp towards a wall of water, and the door would slide up and you'd walk through the water into the temple. I joined a group to go in and walked towards the door, but on the way, I realized that I had my period, and I could not enter with out making the water dirty. I was "unclean." (Somehow, I think this came from reading the old testament before going to bed last night, a chapter that discussed the time of purification of women after their period or having a baby.) So I walked out, but as I walked through the water, the current of the fountain kept making my dress float up in the water, and people could see my garments, so I'm constantly holding down my dress like marilyn monroe, only in water.
flash back to the friend's home with the freaking snakes. We escape to a room where the giant ball python can't get us, only to find that there is a nest of baby ball python's ALL over the place, constantly trying to slither and slide up my legs to get to baby Naomi. I try stomping on them, but to no avail, they only keep getting bigger, so we must leave again.
No we're back at the temple fountain again, just in the warehouse building outside the fountain, adn my mom is with me. One one side of the warehouse is a wall with counters and a sink that is considered the kitchen. I need to wash a bowl and get water for Naomi's food. but the counter's are filthy. covered in cobwebs, dirty food dishes, mold, fungus, and general nastiness. The "sink" is a little thing barely hanging on the wall, and it's full of nasty and filthy dishes. I turn on the water, but it's brown, smelly, thick and disgusting. I can't clean a bowl and get drinkable water out of this sink.
go away from the sink to another corner of the warehouse around the temple room, and sit by a large flat screen tv to change naomi's diaper. I realize that it's kinda weird ad wrong to have a tv showing the news at the temple, so I try to turn the tv off. but when i do it just keeps getting louder. every button i try just turns up the volume. As i'm desperately trying to turn off the tv, people start staring at me messing with the tv. i know they are thinking, "what is she doing, trying to watch tv in the temple?!" The tv starts growing bigger and bigger til it takes up most of the wall...
and then i wake up, as the tv explodes, i think.
when I told my husband about this dream, he noted that he thought it was interesting that I had the two different types of water juxtaposed in my dream-- the water around the temple was pure and living water, while the water outside of it was filthy and could not satisfy. what do you think?
